Shri Ramanna Rice Depot

Shri Ramanna Rice Depot is right here in Khanajiguda, specifically in that long row of shops from 30 to 34. We spend most of our time at shop 192, which stays pretty busy since those BSF apartments are just a short walk away. It’s a simple setup. We have sacks of different rice piled up everywhere, and usually, there is a bit of dust in the air when we move things around. My clothes always have that light rice powder on them by the end of the day. The mornings start early when the trucks come to drop off new stock, and we have to get everything moved inside before the sun gets too hot. People from the neighborhood come in all day, some just looking for a small bag for dinner and others wanting a whole bunch of kilos for the month. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just rows of bags and a heavy weighing scale that has seen better days. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there in the dark for a bit, waiting for the lights to flicker back on so we can see the grain clearly again. The shop row can get a bit crowded with scooters parked outside, but we manage. It’s just regular work, nothing too exciting, just making sure the bags are filled and the floor stays somewhat swept.
