Our shop is right near the Irani Hotel in Amberpet. If you know the area, you know it gets really crowded around the Prajay Avenue Complex. We are just opposite to that. It’s a busy spot with cars and bikes honking all day long. We deal with various items, mostly things people need for their houses or small projects. The shop isn't very big, so things are stacked up to the ceiling. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what a customer is asking for, but we usually know where everything is hidden. We open up around ten in the morning. My cousin helps out when things get busy. Most of our day is spent talking to people who walk in off the street or answering the phone. The Irani hotel nearby is great for a quick snack or chai when we get a break. The building we are in, Door No. 2-3-505/1, is an older one, so it has its quirks. The fan makes a bit of noise but it keeps us cool enough. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just rely on the people who live around Amberpet and know we are here. It’s a simple way to run a business. We try to keep things organized but with so many small parts and pieces, it's a constant struggle. We just keep at it day after day because it's what we know.
