Shankar Traders

If you’ve ever been to Begumbazar in Hyderabad, you know how crazy it gets. Shankar Traders is located in Aziz Plaza, right there near the Masjid Ushmania. It is one of those spots where you can barely move through the crowds during peak hours. We’ve been trading from this shop for years, and it’s always a rush. The space is filled to the ceiling with stock, so there isn’t much room for chairs or anything fancy. We deal with customers from all over the city who come into Goshamahal for better prices. It’s loud, it’s sweaty, and there is always someone haggling over something. We don’t do any of that fancy advertising you see on TV. People know we are here because we’ve been here forever. My brother and a couple of helpers run the daily stuff, while I handle the accounts when I can find a quiet moment. The building itself, Aziz Plaza, is old and has a lot of character, but the elevators are always breaking down. We just take the stairs and keep going. Most days we don’t even have time for a proper lunch, we just grab something from a street vendor and eat while we work. It’s not an easy life, but it’s what we know. Trading is in our blood, and this bazaar is our home. We stay open until the market finally quiets down at night.
