We are located on the first floor of a building in Chaderghat, the number is 16-7-769. You have to walk up some narrow stairs to get to us, and it can be a bit dark in the stairwell sometimes. Once you get inside, it’s mostly just stacks and stacks of paper and books everywhere. We do publishing, so there is always a lot of reading and checking things going on. The room usually smells like fresh ink and old paper, which is something we have grown to love over the years. We spend our days sitting at the desks, looking over pages and making sure the print looks okay. It isn't a very quiet place because Chaderghat is a noisy area with all the traffic and people downstairs. You can hear the buses and the autos all day long through the windows. We don't have fancy decorations on the walls, just some calendars and maybe a few sample covers pinned up here and there. People come in to drop off manuscripts or pick up boxes of printed material. It’s a lot of lifting and moving things around. Sometimes the tea man comes by with a kettle and we take a short break to sit on the stools and talk about the news. It’s a basic setup but we get the work done without much fuss. We’ve been at this address for a long time and the locals know the building well. We just keep our heads down and focus on getting the books ready.
