Literacy House

Literacy House is located on OU Road at the Ams College Chamber. It’s a pretty academic spot to be in, surrounded by the university atmosphere. We have piles of books and documents all over the place. The office in the chamber isn't very large, so we have to be careful about how we stack things. Being on OU Road means there is a constant stream of cars and buses going past the windows. You can hear the city humming all day long. We spend a lot of our time reading or typing up reports. The desks are a bit old and the chairs creak whenever someone moves. It's a place where people come to learn or find information. We don't have any big posters or promotional banners hanging up. It's just a functional workspace. Sometimes students from the college pop their heads in to ask questions. We try to keep things organized, but when we are busy, the papers tend to take over the whole room. The light from the windows is good for reading in the afternoon. We have a small fan that keeps the air moving, which is necessary during the summer months. It's a straightforward place with a lot of history in the shelves. We just go about our business and handle the literacy work that comes our way. It's a quiet sort of busy inside the Ams College Chamber. We just try to get the reading and writing done properly.
