Our work takes us between Hyderabad and Chennai, two cities that never seem to sleep. Satyam Computer Services Ltd has been around the block, and we have seen a lot of changes in the tech world over the years. Our offices are full of people typing away and the hum of server racks. It isn’t like the movies; it’s mostly just rows of monitors and people drinking too much tea while they fix problems. In Hyderabad, the commute can be a real pain, so most of us arrive a bit tired but ready to go. Chennai has that coastal heat that hits you the moment you step outside. We don’t really go in for the fancy stuff you see in some of those new startups. We have standard desks, office chairs that squeak a little, and a lot of whiteboards filled with scribbles that only we understand. It’s a lot of hard work and staying late when something needs to be finished. We have people from all over India working with us, so the lunchroom always smells like a mix of different home-cooked meals. It’s a busy environment, sometimes a bit stressful, but we manage to get through it together. There is always someone working on something, even on the weekends sometimes. We just focus on the tasks we have and try to keep everything running smoothly without making too much of a fuss about it. That is just how we operate.
