We’ve got our shop, Sai Teja Rice And Oil Traders, right here at H No 3-99. It’s very easy to find because it is right near the bus stop in the Quthubulapur area. We spend most of our days here surrounded by big stacks of rice bags and containers of oil. It gets pretty busy when the buses pull up and people get off on their way home from work. The floor is usually covered in a bit of dust, but that’s just how it is when you’re dealing with wholesale grains. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It’s mostly just us moving heavy bags around and weighing out what people need. The fan hums in the corner to keep the heat away, but it doesn't do much when the sun is hitting the front of the shop in the afternoon. We know the neighbors pretty well since we’ve been here at this spot for a while now. Sometimes it’s quiet and we just sit on the stools and watch the traffic go by the bus stop. Other times, everyone comes in at once and we’re scrambling to get the oil tins ready. It’s a simple way to make a living, just trading basic things that everyone needs for their kitchen. We keep the doors open from early morning until it gets dark outside. It’s not a big operation, just a regular place in the district.
