Ramesh Dasi

Ramesh Dasi lives and works over at Laxmi Balakrishna Nivas Apartments in Barkathpura. Being on the third floor in Flat 303 means there are a lot of stairs to climb every single day, which keeps the legs moving. It is right across from Andhra Youthi Mandali College, so the street is always full of students walking back and forth. You can hear the chatter from the college gates when the windows are open. Hyderabad can be a pretty loud city, and Barkathpura is no different, with bikes zooming past and people calling out to each other. It’s a busy spot but it feels like home. The apartment building itself is older but sturdy. Sometimes the mail gets mixed up because the address is a bit of a mouthful, but people around here know where Laxmi Balakrishna Nivas is. Ramesh Dasi has been in this part of Hyderabad for a while now. The 3rd floor gets a decent breeze in the evenings when the sun starts going down behind the college buildings. Living right in front of a landmark like the college makes it easy to tell people where to go. There isn’t much fancy about the place, just a regular flat where things get done day by day. You see the same faces at the tea stalls downstairs and the same cars parked in the tight spaces out front. It is just a normal life in a crowded corner of the city.
