Gussies Garments Textiles

Gussies Garments Textiles is located on the first floor at No. 16-2-147-64/1 in Anand Nagar, specifically in the Professor Colony area of Malakpet. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, and the steps are a little narrow, so you have to be careful. Once you’re inside, it’s just rows of fabric and sewing machines. We have a lot of different textiles piled up, and sometimes it’s hard to find the exact color someone is looking for. The windows stay open to let some air in, but you can still hear all the traffic from Malakpet down below. We spend most of our time measuring, cutting, and stitching. My eyes get a bit tired by the evening from looking at the needles, so I usually take a break to go get some chai from the stall downstairs. We don't have a big showroom with mannequins or fancy lights. It’s more of a workspace where things actually get made. The floor is usually covered in thread and small scraps of cloth by the end of the day. We try to sweep it up before we head home, but some always stays behind. Being in Professor Colony is nice because it’s a bit of a landmark, but the parking can be a real headache for anyone visiting. We just focus on getting the garments finished and making sure the measurements are what they’re supposed to be. It's plain, honest work.
