Patlolla Farmer Empowerment Foundation

Patlolla Farmer Empowerment Foundation is based out of Plot Number 129 in Shivapuri, over in the Bairagi Guda area of Hyderabad. We’ve been here in Telangana for a bit now, just trying to help out the folks who grow our food. Farming isn't getting any easier with the way prices go up and down and the rain never seems to come when you actually need it. We aren't some big city corporation with a lot of suits. Most of the time we're just sitting around a table in Bairagi Guda trying to figure out how to get better tools or seeds to the people who need them. It’s a lot of talking and listening to what the farmers are actually dealing with on the ground. Sometimes it feels like we're just scratching the surface, but we keep at it. The office is tucked away in a quiet spot, which is nice because it gives us room to think. Hyderabad is growing so fast, sometimes the people working the fields get forgotten in all the noise. We try to make sure that doesn't happen. It's practical work, mostly. We deal with a lot of paperwork and phone calls, trying to connect different people. There’s no magic fix for the problems farmers face, so we just focus on the small things we can actually change. It's slow going, but we're still here, doing what we can from our little corner of Shivapuri. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
