Anand Nagar Colony is a pretty busy residential area in Khairatabad, and our place at 6-3-609/139 fits right in. We are not some big corporate entity; we are just a local business trying to keep up with the daily demands of our customers. The office is on the ground floor, so people are always popping their heads in to ask questions or just to say hello. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside with all the furniture and the files we have collected over the years. We have a couple of ceiling fans that work overtime during the Hyderabad summers, and there is usually a stack of newspapers on the table for anyone who has to wait. Most of our work is done on old-fashioned registers, though we have a laptop for the important stuff. We spend a lot of time talking to the neighbors and the people who live in the colony. It feels more like a community spot than a cold office. There is a small garden patch outside that we try to keep green, though it is hard with the dust from the road. We usually shut down for an hour in the afternoon to have a quiet lunch and a bit of a rest before the evening rush starts. It is not a fancy operation, just a few of us working together in a neighborhood we know very well. We like the pace here and the fact that we see the same faces every day.
