Ooko Kaka Apparels Private Limited

If you know where the SR Complex is in Habisiguda, that’s where you’ll find us. We are in Flat No 308, right opposite the CCMB gate. It’s a very recognizable landmark around here in this part of town. Ooko Kaka Apparels Private Limited is mostly just a few of us in a three-room setup. It gets pretty cramped when we have a lot of inventory coming in and the boxes start stacking up. We spend a lot of time moving boxes from the hallway into the back room. The elevator in the complex is a bit slow and creaky, so we end up taking the stairs quite a bit. It’s good exercise, I guess, even if we are tired. The view from the third floor isn't much, just the busy road and people heading to the metro station. We started this because we liked the idea of making our own clothes. We aren't experts in everything, but we learn as we go. Some days are just filled with paperwork and taxes, which isn't the fun part of the job, but it has to be done. We usually grab lunch from the small food shops downstairs. It’s a very local way of working. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything fancy. We just hope the clothes we make are good enough for people to keep coming back. Working in Habisiguda is convenient because of the transport, even if the main intersection gets completely blocked up every evening. It’s a busy, noisy, real place to work.
