Our place is located out near Shamshabad, which is quite a distance from the main city center. It is mostly open land around here so the wind picks up a lot of dust during the dry months. We spend most of our time sorting through materials that people don't want anymore. It is not the cleanest job in the world but it is what we do every day. The trucks come in at odd hours sometimes and we have to be ready to unload them. We have a few big machines that do the heavy lifting and crushing. They make a lot of noise, so you can't really hear much else when they are running. We keep an eye on the piles of scrap to make sure everything is in the right section. The sun can be really brutal in the afternoons because there is not much shade out here in the yard. We drink a lot of water and try to stay under the tin roof when we can. It is a lot of physical work, moving things around and checking the weight of the loads. Sometimes we find interesting things in the waste, but mostly it is just the usual plastic and metal. We just keep the process moving along so the yard doesn't get too backed up. It is a steady routine of incoming and outgoing loads without much fuss. We just focus on getting through the pile before the day ends.
