O M G Balaji Rice Traders is based at 1-24-75 in Rajivgandhi Nagar, Bandlaguda. We are basically a wholesale trading spot for grain. Our warehouse is usually filled with bags of rice stacked nearly to the ceiling. It’s a busy place, especially in the mornings when the deliveries are arriving from the mills. Rajivgandhi Nagar is a lively neighborhood, and being here puts us right where we need to be to move the stock. We don't have a fancy shop front or any glossy signs to show off. Most of our work is done in the back among the sacks of grain. We spend our time checking the quality of the rice and negotiating with suppliers on the phone. It is a lot of back-and-forth throughout the day. The floors are usually covered in a bit of grain dust, and it can get quite hot when we are busy loading the lorries. Bandlaguda has a lot of movement, so we are always on our toes. We are a small team and we’ve been working together for a long time. We don't have a mission statement or any big corporate plans. We just buy rice and sell it to the people who need it. It is a very direct and simple business. If you come by 1-24-75, you’ll just see us doing the same things we’ve been doing for years. It is hard work, but it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk every day.
