Amar Garments

Amar Garments is our little clothing workshop over at 3 11 102/1 in P Kl Reddy Nagar. We’re in the New Bhavani Nagar area, quite close to the Hanuman Temple. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, you can usually hear the sound of our sewing machines from the street. It’s a family-run business through and through. My mother, sisters, and a couple of local ladies do most of the stitching and finishing. We don't have a big factory or a fancy storefront with mannequins. It’s just a couple of rooms filled with sewing tables, rolls of fabric, and thread of every color you can think of. We mostly handle orders for local shops and sometimes individual customers who want something specific made. We started out with just one machine in the corner of the house and it just grew from there. We aren't trying to be a big brand. We just like making clothes and seeing them being worn by people in the community. The workplace is a bit cluttered, especially when we’re in the middle of a big order, but we always know where everything is. We take a break in the afternoon for some tea and a chat before getting back to the machines. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it this way for many years now without any complaints.
