Nanduri Engineering Works

Our workshop, Nanduri Engineering Works, is at Plot No. 243 in Kalyan Nagar. We are situated right opposite St. Alphon's School, so the sound of the school bell is basically our clock for the day. It’s a handy landmark because everyone in this part of town knows where the school is. The plot is a decent size, but we have a lot of equipment packed into it. We do various types of engineering work, mostly welding and making metal frames for local builders. It’s noisy and there are sparks flying quite often, so we keep the big doors open for ventilation. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we try not to work too late into the evening so we don't bother the families living nearby. It’s just a few of us here, mostly guys who have been working with metal for most of their lives. We don't have a fancy office or a showroom. If someone wants something made, they just come to the gate and talk to us directly. We usually have some scraps of iron and steel lying around the yard. It’s a bit messy, but that’s the nature of the job. Kalyan Nagar is a nice area to work in, and being across from the school keeps the street busy and lively. We’ve been at Plot 243 for a long time and don't plan on moving anytime soon.
