Over at Plot No. 7 and 8 on Road No. 1 in the Nacharam IDA, you will find K. K. Rao Engineering Works. We have been here in Hyderabad for a long time now. This whole area has changed quite a bit since we first opened our doors. It used to be much quieter back then. Nowadays, Road No. 1 is always full of heavy lorries and people rushing around. We have a decent-sized workshop where we do all our fabrication and machining. It’s not the cleanest place you’ll ever see, but it is a real working shop where things get made. We handle a lot of heavy steel plates and sections. You can usually hear the sound of hammers or heavy drills even before you walk through the gate. We have a small team of about ten guys. Some of them have been working with us for over twenty years now. We know each other well. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. There is just a small room with a desk and some old filing cabinets where we keep the paperwork. Sometimes the rain gets under the door when we have those big Hyderabad storms in the monsoon season. We just mop it up and keep the machines running. We do work for all sorts of industries in the local area. It is honest, hard work. We don't care about being famous or having a big name. We just want to make sure the parts are done right.
