Annapurna Rice Mill

Our mill is located at 44/127/2 in Moulaali. If you come by, you’ll probably see the dust in the air from the rice being processed. It’s a noisy place with the machines running, but that is just part of the job. Most mornings are spent checking the grain and making sure everything is moving through the sifters right. Moulaali has changed a lot over the years, but the work here stays mostly the same. We deal with the farmers and the guys who bring the trucks in. Sometimes the bags are heavy and the sun is hot. A fancy office or air conditioning isn't something we have in the main area. It’s just hard work and grit. Most of us have been doing this for years now. You get used to the smell of raw rice and the sound of the motors. When things break down, we fix them ourselves if we can. It’s not a glamorous business. Getting the rice ready for the market is the daily goal. Some days are longer than others, especially during the harvest season. We just keep the gates open and get to work. It’s what we know how to do. You won't find anything high-tech here, just the usual mill equipment and a few tired workers. Keeping the place tidy is nearly impossible with all that grain. We just do our best to stay on top of the orders and keep the machinery running.
