Mohammed Khan

I’ve been running things under my name, Mohammed Khan, here in Hyderabad for quite some time. It’s just a straightforward operation. There isn't much to say about the office itself. It’s just a room with what I need to get through the day. Hyderabad is a busy city, and being right in the middle of it means there’s always noise coming in from the street. I keep the windows closed mostly to drown out the horns. I don't have a team of fifty people or some big corporate strategy. It’s just me and a couple of others helping out when things get busy. We spend a lot of time just talking through things and making sure nothing gets missed. The paperwork piles up sometimes, but we get through it. People often ask why I didn't pick a more professional-sounding name, but this is who I am, so it made sense. India is a big place, but here in this part of town, it feels like a small village sometimes. You see the same faces every morning. I usually walk to work if it isn't too hot, which gives me time to think. There’s no mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just do the work that comes in. If something breaks, we fix it ourselves. It’s a simple life and a simple business. We like it that way because it is easier to manage.
