We have been based out of Navnirman Flats in Naranpura for some time now. Our unit is number 8 92. It is an older residential style complex, so it does not feel like a fancy corporate office or anything like that. Most days the stairs are a bit dusty because of the construction work happening down the street, but that is just how things are in this part of Ahmedabad. During the summer, it gets incredibly hot inside, so we keep the fans running all day long. There is a small tea stall right near the entrance of the flats where most of us go around four in the afternoon. The guy there makes decent tea, though sometimes it is a bit too sugary. Parking is always a bit of a gamble here. If you arrive after ten in the morning, you will probably have to park your scooter or car quite a way down the road. The neighbors in the other flats are mostly families who have lived here for decades. They know us by now and usually just wave when we come in. It is a very lived-in space. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one near the door so people don't get lost in the hallways. Sometimes the mail gets delivered to the wrong block because the numbering system in these flats can be a bit confusing for new couriers. We just walk it over to the right person.
