You can find us at Plot No. 29, Gayathrinilayam on Hafeezpet Road in Miyapur. We do clothing and apparel work here. The building is easy to spot once you get onto the main road. Inside, there are racks of clothes and rolls of fabric sitting in the corners. We do a lot of measuring and cutting every day. The sound of the machines is pretty much constant from morning until evening. It’s a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. My cousin helps out with the packing sometimes. We’ve been at this location for a while now and the locals know us by name. The windows let in a lot of dust from the road, so we are always wiping things down. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just people coming in through the door. We make sure the buttons are on tight and the seams are straight. Sometimes the thread tangles and we have to start over on a piece. We drink chai twice a day, usually sitting on the stools near the entrance. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. The rainy season makes the roof leak a tiny bit near the back door, but we put a bucket there and it’s fine. We just keep sewing and making sure the orders are ready when people come to pick them up. The local market nearby keeps us stocked with supplies.
