I’ve been over here in Mehdipatnam for quite some time now. My photography business is basically just me and a few cameras. I spend a lot of time out on shoots, but this is where I keep all my gear and do the editing. Mehdipatnam is a loud, active area, which I actually like. It keeps me energized. Sometimes I'm out at weddings all night and then I come back here to look at the files. The lighting in my workspace isn't perfect, but it works for what I need. I don’t have a big fancy studio with a receptionist or anything like that. If the phone rings, I’m usually the one picking it up, unless I’m behind the lens. I’ve lived around here long enough to know the best spots for a quick tea break. People usually find me through word of mouth. I just try to take decent photos that people will want to keep. It’s a simple life, really. I carry my bags, set up the tripod, and try to catch the right moment. Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate, or a flash battery dies at the wrong time, but that’s just part of the job. I don’t use any of those complex marketing tricks. I just show up when I'm supposed to and take the pictures. It’s hard work, but I enjoy it. I’ve got some old frames leaning against the wall that I need to hang up eventually. It is just how it goes when you work alone.
