Mantel Photography

Mantel Photography is located over in Banjara Hills. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of energy, and we have been here for a while now. The studio isn't some massive warehouse; it’s a comfortable space where we keep all our cameras and lights. We spend a lot of time just sitting around the table looking at prints or cleaning lenses. There is always a lot of dust in the air from the street, so cleaning the equipment is a constant job. We don't really have a big sales team. Usually, it’s just us answering the phone and talking to people who want some photos taken. Banjara Hills has some nice spots for shooting, but we do a lot of our work right here inside. The lighting in the morning is actually pretty good through the front window. We don't really go for the high-end corporate vibe. We just like taking pictures and making sure they look like the people in them. Sometimes the gear breaks or a light bulb pops, and we just have to fix it and keep going. It’s not always perfect, and our coffee machine is a bit temperamental, but we like it here. People usually find us because they saw our name or live nearby. We just take it day by day, capturing what we see and trying to keep things simple while we work.
