I’ve been doing photography here on Bank Street for a good number of years now. The studio is just a simple room with some lights and a few backdrops I’ve picked up over time. It’s not one of those high-end places you see in the city center, but it works for what we do. Mostly, I take pictures for weddings, birthdays, or just when someone needs a decent portrait for work. Bank Street is usually full of people, so I get a lot of walk-ins who just need a quick photo. I’ve seen kids grow up through my lens, coming back year after year for their school pictures. My camera equipment is getting a bit old, but it still takes a good photo if you know how to use the light. Sometimes the lighting is tricky, or the weather doesn't help, but we make it work. I spend a lot of time sitting at my desk afterwards, going through all the shots and picking out the ones that aren't blurry. It's a lot of quiet work, but I like it. People around here know me as the guy on Bank Street with the camera. I don’t use any of those fancy filters that make everyone look fake. I just take the picture as it is. It’s a small life, but it’s mine. I usually keep some extra frames around too, in case someone wants to hang their picture up right away. It feels good to see my work in someone's home.
