Mahavir Brothers

Mahavir Brothers is tucked away in Dharod House on Tilak Road. The address is 4-1-896/A, but most people just look for the old sign. We’ve been operating out of this building for years. It’s one of those places where the stairs creak and the ceilings are high. There are usually stacks of ledgers and boxes piled up near the entrance. We aren't a big corporation with departments and managers. It’s just a few of us handling the daily trade. Tilak Road is always crowded with people and cars, so it’s a bit quieter once you get inside the office. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who walk in off the street. Some of our customers have been coming here since their fathers were running things. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Word of mouth seems to work okay for us. The desks are old wood and the fans hum all afternoon. We deal with whatever comes through the door. Sometimes it's a long day of paperwork, other times it’s quick. We don’t have a lunchroom, so we usually just eat at our desks while we work. It’s a simple life. We keep things running the way they always have been. Dharod House is a landmark for us, and we don't plan on moving anytime soon.
