Our place is called Jaju House, and it’s tucked away in the lane right beside the 94 bus stop in the Madina and Rikab Gunj area. It’s an old part of the city, and it gets very crowded. You can always hear the buses pulling in and out. Jaju Sarees has been operating out of this building, 21-1-590, for a long time. We have stacks of sarees everywhere you look. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the fabric. We spend the day unfolding and folding things back up for people. It’s a lot of work on your feet. The lane is narrow, so bikes are always zooming past the front door. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s more of a practical space where we handle the business. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit by the door where there’s light. We have a lot of regulars who know exactly where to find us near the bus stop. It’s a family name on the door, and we try to keep things running steady. There’s always the smell of tea and old paper in the office. We don't use much technology, mostly just ledgers and talking to people. It’s a bit chaotic during the festival seasons, but we manage. You have to be careful walking in because the steps are a bit worn down from all the years. We keep a fan going by the counter to stay cool when it’s busy. Usually, someone is sitting on the steps outside waiting for the bus.
