Madhuri Bhavthanker

I am Madhuri Bhavthanker and I’ve been operating out of this part of Hyderabad for several years. My space is right in the 500001 zip code area, which is pretty much the center of everything. It can be quite loud outside with the traffic and the usual city buzz, but I’ve gotten used to it over time. I decided to open this place because I wanted to offer something personal to the people living around here. It isn’t a large corporation with hundreds of employees. Instead, it’s a more quiet, individual operation where things get handled directly by me. The room where I work has a lot of books and some old furniture that I’ve kept because it’s comfortable. I don’t believe in spending a lot on shiny new things if the old ones still work perfectly fine. Most of my day is spent talking to people or working on files. I usually grab tea from the stall around the corner twice a day; it’s the best way to take a break. People who come here usually appreciate that it’s not too formal. You can just sit down and talk. Hyderabad is changing so fast with all these new buildings, but this little corner feels like it’s staying the same. It’s a grounded place. I like being part of the local fabric here and helping out whenever I can. It's just a regular local business without any big bells and whistles.
