Maahi Handicrafts

Our workshop is tucked away near the Bhano Dya School in the Ram Bagh area of Attapur. It is a place where things are made by hand, so there is always a bit of a mess with scraps and tools lying around on the benches. We focus on handicrafts and things that take a bit of time and a lot of patience to finish. The kids from the school often walk past our front door on their way home in the afternoon. It is a local operation, nothing too big or complicated. We spend our mornings getting the materials ready and the afternoons putting everything together. Some pieces take much longer than others, and sometimes we make mistakes and have to start the whole thing over. That is just how handmade stuff works. We do not have a big marketing team or a polished office to show off. It is just us and the work we do. The light in the shop is pretty good in the morning, which helps with the detailed parts of the crafts. Attapur has changed quite a bit over the years, but we have stayed in this same spot near the school. We get people from the neighborhood coming in to see what is new or to ask if we can fix something they bought from us a long time ago. It is a slow kind of business, not like the big factories you see.
