M. M. Engineers

Our workshop is located at 6-7-89 in Bansilapet, right on R.P. Road. It is a gritty kind of place, full of metal scraps and the smell of machine oil. We are engineers, but the kind that actually gets their hands on the machines. There is always something being drilled, welded, or turned on a lathe. It gets quite loud, and we usually have to shout to be heard over the grinders. R.P. Road is a busy stretch, and we get a fair amount of walk-in business from people needing a part fixed or a custom piece of metal worked on. The floors are never really clean for long, no matter how much we sweep them. That is just the nature of this job. We have a small crew and we have all got our own benches. Sometimes we sit around the back for lunch and talk about how the machines are holding up. We do not have any polished brochures or fancy uniforms. We wear clothes that we do not mind getting grease on. The work is steady and it requires a lot of patience. Sometimes a job takes much longer than we thought because the metal is not behaving or a tool breaks. We just keep going until it is right. It is honest work and it keeps the lights on. We have been in Bansilapet for years and most of the other shop owners nearby are our friends.
