If you come down to Rahmat Nagar in Yousufguda, you will find Lavanya Gopi Civil Supplies at 3-26-51. It’s a busy little spot where we handle all the basic things people need for their homes. We have sacks of grain, pulses, and other staples piled up. The shop doesn't look like a modern supermarket. It’s more of a traditional setup where things are weighed out and packed right in front of you. There is always a layer of dust from the flour or the bags, and the smell of spices and raw rice is pretty strong. We spend most of the day on our feet, dragging heavy bags around or pouring supplies into smaller containers. The counter is made of old wood that has been smoothed down by years of use. It gets very crowded in the evenings when everyone is getting off work and stopping by to pick up stuff for dinner.
