Ks Rice Mills is actually run out of 502 Sai Kiran Apartments in Padma Rao Nagar. It might seem a bit odd to some people to have a rice business listed at an apartment address, but that’s where our main office is located. We handle all the trading and the logistics from here while the heavy lifting and processing happen elsewhere. We’ve been involved in the rice trade for quite some time now and we know the market pretty well. We aren't a giant corporation with thousands of workers and big boardrooms. It’s a small operation where we keep track of different varieties and where they need to go. Padma Rao Nagar is a familiar area for us, and being in Sai Kiran Apartments keeps us central to our main contacts. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers and checking on delivery schedules. We don't have a storefront where you can see sacks of rice piled up to the ceiling; it’s more about the administrative side of the business. We try to be fair with everyone we deal with, from the farmers to the buyers. It’s a lot of paperwork and making sure the quality of the grain is what it should be. We’re just regular people trying to make a living in a tough industry. It’s not always easy, but we’ve managed to keep things going through the years. We don’t do big ads or fancy marketing. It's just simple work.
