Pooja Garments

Pooja Garments is at 5-1-767/7 in the Vithaldas market. Koti is a very busy part of Hyderabad, and the market is even more chaotic than the rest of the area. We are right in the heart of it all. The shop is small and filled from floor to ceiling with different types of garments. There’s barely enough room for three customers to stand comfortably at the counter when it gets busy. We spend our day unfolding and folding clothes as people look through the stock we have. The market outside is always noisy with hawkers and the constant sound of rickshaws going by. It’s quite hot during the summer because the ventilation isn't very good in these old market buildings. We have a couple of ceiling fans that hum constantly but don't do much. We know the other shopkeepers around us very well, and we often share a cup of tea in the afternoon. People come to Koti looking for a good price, and we’ve been here serving the local crowd for a long time. There are no fancy dressing rooms here; it’s just a very traditional market setup. We keep our stock organized by color and size, but by the end of a busy Saturday, everything is usually a bit of a mess and we have to stay late to fix it. It’s a simple business, and we like the energy here.
