Human Rights Protection

Our office for Human Rights Protection is located at H. No 12-13-1232, Street No 9 in Tarnaka. We are right opposite Venjiree Sangham in Secendrabad. It is a plain building where we spend most of our time talking to people who come in with problems. There are a lot of files and papers stacked up on the desks. People from all over the area drop by when they feel something is unfair or if they need help with some official matter. We don't have any fancy furniture, just some plastic chairs for visitors to sit on. Sometimes the fans are a bit noisy, but we don't mind. We listen to stories and try to figure out what can be done. It’s a lot of writing and making phone calls. Tarnaka is a busy place, so there is always traffic noise coming through the windows. We aren't a big government department; we are just people trying to look out for others in the neighborhood. Often, people just need someone to hear them out and give some practical advice. We’ve been in this street for a good amount of time, so people know the address. It’s not about making money; it’s more about being there when someone has nowhere else to go. We keep the doors open during the day and just take things as they come.
