You can find Sree Balaji Handicrafts at Shop No. 15 in Shilparamam, which is right near Hitech City. Being in Shilparamam means we get a lot of people walking through, especially on the weekends when folks are out looking at the different stalls. Our shop is filled with all kinds of handmade items. We have shelves packed with things made from wood, clay, and fabric. It can get a bit cluttered because we keep trying to fit new things in. Most of what we have comes from different artisans who do this work in their own villages. We just provide the space here for people to see it. It’s quite different from the big modern buildings and glass offices you see just outside the gate in Hitech City. Inside our little shop, it feels a bit more traditional. Sometimes the dust from the crafts gets on everything and we have to spend time wiping down the shelves. We’re not a big corporation, just a small shop trying to sell some nice local things. I spend my days talking to visitors and explaining where some of the pieces come from, though I’m not always sure of every single detail myself. It’s a nice environment to work in, even if it gets a bit crowded during the festival seasons. We just open up in the morning and wait to see who walks in. It’s a pretty simple way to run a business. We hope people find something they like.
