Our workspace is tucked away in Block 22 of the Malaysian Township in Kukatpally. It’s a big residential area, so it’s actually quite peaceful compared to the main roads of Hyderabad. We are up on the fourth floor in Flat 403. Most of the time, the office is filled with the sound of someone on the phone or the hum of the computer fans. We deal with power services, which basically means we spend a lot of time thinking about generators and electrical setups for different buildings. The guys are often out in the field, so the office can feel a bit empty during the middle of the day. We’ve got a small kitchen area where the kettle is always on. It’s not a fancy corporate setup with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a regular apartment turned into a place of work. We have boxes of components sitting in the corners because we ran out of shelf space last month. Finding a parking spot near our block can be a real headache sometimes, especially in the evenings when everyone is coming home. We just do our jobs and try to stay on top of the service calls. It’s steady work. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we all just sit there waiting for a file to upload. It’s just the reality of a small business running out of a township flat.
