You can find us at Shop No. 5 and 6 in the Soni Collection area of Banke Nagar. We’re right opposite the Kphp Housing Board Colony. It’s a good location because there are always families walking around the colony. We have two shop units joined together so there’s a bit more room than some of the other spots on the block. I usually handle the designing part while the others help with the cutting and assembly. We have a lot of mirrors on the walls so people can see how the clothes look. The floor is tile and it’s always getting covered in scraps of fabric. We try to sweep it twice a day but it’s a losing battle. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun but most people know who we are. We get a lot of folks from the housing board coming in for alterations or to get something custom made for a wedding. It’s a steady pace of work. We don't use any high-tech equipment, just the same old machines we’ve had for years. They work fine if you know how to oil them right. Sometimes we share tea with the neighbors when it’s a slow afternoon. It’s a friendly street and we’ve been part of it for quite some time now. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The shop can get quite warm in the summer but we have a good ceiling fan.
