You have to head over to Khairatabad to find Eyantra Apparels Ltd. We are situated at 6-2-1012, up on the third floor of Tgv Mansion. It’s right above the ICICI Bank, so that’s usually how we tell people to find us. Taking the lift up is better than the stairs, especially in the afternoon heat. Once you’re inside, the place feels a lot different from the bank downstairs. We have rolls of fabric and half-finished garments scattered around on different tables. There’s the sound of scissors and the low hum of people discussing designs. The third floor gives us a decent view of the street, but mostly we are looking at the work in front of us. It’s a bit messy at times, especially when we’re in the middle of a big apparel order. We have a few desks for the office side of things, but the heart of the place is where the clothes get handled. We don’t have a big corporate sign inside, just some notes pinned to the walls and a lot of measuring tapes lying around. It feels like a workshop because that’s really what it is. We drink our tea while looking over sketches or checking the stitching on a sample. It’s a practical space where we put in the time to get the clothing right. No frills, just a lot of work on the third floor.
