Environmental Engineer

I work out of flat 203 in Tirumala Nilayam, over in Deeptisri Nagar. It’s a quiet spot in Madinaguda, Hyderabad. Being an environmental engineer here means a lot of different things depending on what the day brings. Sometimes I’m looking at drainage plans, and other times it’s about waste management for a new apartment block being built. It’s just me and a couple of others helping out. We keep things pretty simple. The office is really just a room with some computers and a lot of maps rolled up in the corner. Hyderabad is growing so fast, so there’s always something that needs checking. I’ve been living and working in this part of the city for years. People from the area know they can just drop by if they have a question about a permit or a technical problem. It’s not a corporate setup at all. We have our coffee, do the calculations, and try to get the work done on time. It can be a bit stressful when the regulations change suddenly, but we stay on top of it. It’s practical, everyday engineering work. No big speeches or fancy brochures here. Just a local office in Madinaguda trying to help people navigate the environmental rules without too much fuss. We’ve seen a lot of changes in the skyline from our balcony over the years and we just keep doing our part.
