Batliboi Environmental Engineering Ltd. operates out of Flat No. 2 in Sri Krishna Apartments, which is located in Seetharam Nagar in the Safilguda area. It’s a quiet residential building, so it feels more like a home than a typical engineering office. We have turned the different rooms into workspaces for our team. There are desks squeezed into the corners and stacks of files piled up on the shelves. Most of our day is spent looking at environmental engineering plans and doing technical reports. We have a couple of computers that are always running loud fans, and there’s usually a pot of tea on the go in the small kitchen area. Because we are in an apartment, we have to be mindful of the neighbors and keep the noise down. We don't have a big corporate lobby with a fancy logo on the wall. Instead, we have a simple nameplate on the door. People who visit us often comment on how tucked away we are. We do a lot of our work on paper before we ever go out to a site. It’s a lot of sitting and thinking about how to solve technical problems. When we do go out, it’s usually to check on installations or meet with contractors. Safilguda is a nice area to work in, and being in an apartment keeps things feeling low-key and practical for our small group of engineers. We just focus on the drawings and the math and getting the paperwork organized every week.
