E V Gopal Krishna

Our place is located at Badichowdi, right across from the police station. If you know that area in Hyderabad, you know it’s always crowded and noisy. We’ve been at Door No 4-5-787 for a long time. It’s an old building, but it works for what we do. E V Gopal Krishna is just the name on the board, but mostly it’s just us doing our daily tasks. I walk to work most days because parking is a nightmare around here. The morning starts with clearing off the dust that settles overnight. Being near the police station means there’s always something going on outside the window. Sometimes sirens, sometimes just people arguing. We don’t have any fancy office furniture or anything like that. Just some old desks and chairs that have seen better days. It’s a practical space. My father started things here, and I just kept it going. We know most of the shopkeepers on this street. We trade stories over lunch sometimes. It’s a tight-knit community despite the chaos of the city. We don’t really bother with big signs or flashy lights. People find us when they need to. The door is usually open, though we might close it if the dust gets too bad from the road construction. That’s just how it goes in this part of town. We keep it simple and stay busy with the work at hand. No fuss, just everyday business.
