Dr Manmohan Tepoja

My name is Dr Manmohan Tepoja and I run a small practice near the Hyderabad GPO. Being right in the 500001 area means I see people from all walks of life. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a few rooms in an old building. I’ve been practicing medicine here for many years. Most of my patients are regulars who have been coming to me since I first started my career. We handle the usual stuff like the flu, stomach aches, and general health checkups. It’s a bit noisy because we are so close to the main post office and the center of the city. I usually have a tea in the morning before the first person arrives. The records are all kept in big folders on the shelves behind the desk. Sometimes it takes a minute to find the right one because they are getting quite thick. I don’t use a lot of fancy technology here; I prefer talking to people face-to-face. The stairs up to the clinic are a bit steep, so some people complain about that when they visit. I tell them it’s good exercise for the heart. I try to be honest with everyone about what’s going on with their health. It’s a simple life, being a doctor in this neighborhood. We don’t have a big sign outside, just a small one that most people recognize by now. It’s home to me. I keep some water in a clay pot for the patients who are waiting.
