Dr Ghousia Begum

Our place is at Door No 20-7-67/1 in Hyderabad 500001. We are right beside the Medical and General Store in Himt Pura. It’s a handy spot because if I write a prescription, the shop is right there. The neighborhood is tight-knit and very lively. You can always smell food cooking from the nearby houses and hear kids playing in the street. Dr Ghousia Begum is the name on the sign, which is a bit faded now from the sun. The clinic isn't much to look at, just a couple of rooms where we see our neighbors. We don't have a receptionist in a suit; it's usually just me or a family member helping out. We've got a wooden bench for people to wait on, and it’s usually full by ten in the morning. Himt Pura is a place where everyone knows everyone else’s business, which makes it feel very much like home. The office has a lot of personality, with mismatched curtains and an old rug that’s seen better days. We don't try to be something we’re not. We’re just here to provide medical help to the community. Most of our day is spent listening to stories and checking pulses. It's honest work and we've been doing it at this same address for years. If you get lost, just look for the medical store and we're right next door. We usually keep the side door open to let a breeze in.
