Dr G Vijaya Lakshmi

If you head over toward the Hyderabad GPO area, you’ll find my practice. I’m Dr G Vijaya Lakshmi, and I’ve been at this Hyderabad 500001 location for a while. It’s a very busy part of town, being so close to the main post office and all. The building we’re in has been around for ages. It’s got high ceilings and those old-fashioned windows that sometimes stick when you try to open them. My office isn't decorated with anything modern; it’s mostly just books, medical tools, and stacks of papers that I need to get through. People come here because they know we’re right in the neighborhood. We don’t do any advertising; word of mouth is usually how folks find us. The lobby is small, so it feels a bit crowded on Monday mornings. We have a little fan that hums in the corner and a clock that’s always two minutes fast. I like it that way. It keeps us on our toes. My assistant knows almost everyone who walks through the door by their first name. We aren't part of some big hospital chain. It’s just a small, independent place where we do what we can for the people who live and work around the GPO. The streets outside are always packed with people, but inside, we try to keep things as calm as possible for the patients. I think it's important to have a quiet space in the middle of all that city chaos.
