Deepak Galvanising & Engineering Industries Private Ltd. has a fairly large setup over at Plot No. 45 To 48, Ida, Nacharam. Galvanizing is heavy, physical work. It is always hot near the kettles and there is a lot of steam and noise throughout the day. The staff here is used to the heat and the hard labor. We have a big yard where the steel is stored both before and after we process it. It can get pretty messy when we have a lot of big orders coming in at the same time. Nacharam is a good place for this kind of industry because there is enough room for the big trucks to turn around. We do not have any frills here. The office is just a small, plain building at the front of the plots. Inside, it is mostly just rows of files and the lingering smell of the workshop. We do not spend money on fancy furniture or decorations because we would rather keep the machinery running well. Most of our workers live nearby in the local area. We have a routine that starts very early in the morning before the sun gets too high and makes the heat unbearable. It is a tough job, but it is what we do for a living. We have watched this industrial area grow over the years. We just stick to our plots and keep working.
