Secunderabad is quite different from the rest of Hyderabad, and S.D Road is always a whirlwind of cars and people. Our shop is in the Jain Estate building, which has been around for a long time. You can tell by the stairs and the way the walls feel. We’ve been here at Parklane for years, watching the shops around us change every few months. We mainly focus on clothes that guys can wear to the office or out for a nice dinner. It’s not about being trendy for us; it’s more about stuff that actually lasts more than a few washes. The building has that old Secunderabad charm, though the parking is a total nightmare for anyone visiting. We usually tell people to just park further down and walk. Inside, it’s quiet compared to the noise of the main road. We have these big glass windows that let in the sun, which is nice until it gets too hot in the afternoon. Most of our regulars are men who have been buying the same style of shirts since they started working. We know exactly what they like. It’s a straightforward business, really. We get the stock in, we put it on the hangers, and we talk to whoever walks in. No big speeches or complicated displays. Just a lot of cotton and some decent mirrors to see how things fit.
