Chitralekhanam Ridhimas School Of Fine Arts

We’ve been here in Sri Nagar Colony for a while now. The school is on the first floor, right next to the bank and across from the hospital. It gets busy around here, but inside it’s just about the art. People come in to learn painting and drawing without much fuss. We have different age groups coming through the doors. Some kids are just starting out with crayons while older folks are trying to get the hang of oil paints. It isn't a fancy gallery or anything like that. Just a place with tables, brushes, and a lot of paper. We spend the afternoons mostly showing how to hold a pencil or mix colors so they don't turn into mud. Sometimes the floor gets messy with paint spills, but that's part of it. If you’re walking past Nikhil Hospital, you can see our sign. We keep things simple enough. There are no big exams or stressful competitions here. Just people sitting down to draw what they see. We’ve had many students come and go over the years. Some stay for a month and some stay for years. It’s nice to see someone finally get a portrait right after struggling with it for weeks. The light in the studio is decent during the day which helps. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know our way around a canvas. It’s quiet work, mostly. We just keep at it every day.
