Masarrath

Masarrath is our shop, and you can find us at Shop No. 72 right beside the Chowmahalla Palace in Lad Bazar. If you’ve ever been to the Charminar area, you know how incredibly crowded and loud it gets. Our little corner is right in the middle of all that action. We spend the whole day surrounded by the sounds of the market and the tourists visiting the palace next door. It’s a small space, like most shops in Lad Bazar, so things are packed in pretty tight. We have been here for a good while, and we’ve seen the streets change over the years. Most of the time, we are just sitting here talking to customers or showing them what we have in stock. It gets very busy during the festival seasons and weddings, and sometimes the whole lane is so packed you can barely walk. We don't really do much advertising; people just walk by and see the shop. The dust from the street comes in every day, so we are constantly cleaning the glass and the counters. It’s a family-run kind of thing, and we take turns being at the shop. Sometimes we just sit outside on the step when it's quiet to watch the people go by. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, no computers or anything complicated. Just us, the shop, and the busy life of Charminar every single day.
