Cascolin Plastics

Cascolin Plastics is located over in the Apie area of Balanagar. We are on the second floor of building A-27, right by Gate 1. If you know the industrial estate, it’s not too hard to find, though the stairs can be a bit of a climb when we’re moving materials. The floor is usually busy with the machines running. It gets quite warm in there, especially in the afternoons. We do a lot of different plastic work. It’s noisy and there is always the smell of raw materials in the air. I started this because I knew a bit about how the molding process works. We aren’t a giant factory with hundreds of people. It’s a small team of us working the shifts. Most of the time, we’re just focused on the orders that come in from other local businesses. The space isn't very pretty, it's just a functional workshop with tools and scraps here and there. We spend a lot of time maintaining the equipment because if a machine breaks down, everything stops. Balanagar is a good spot for this kind of work because there are so many other workshops nearby. Sometimes we help each other out with parts or advice. It’s practical work. No one wears suits here. We’re usually covered in a bit of dust or grease by the end of the shift. That’s just the nature of the job at Cascolin Plastics. We just keep our heads down and get the production done, day after day.
