Swastik Polymers

Our unit is located at A/23/2 in the Gandhi Nagr Area of the Ida Kukatpally industrial zone. If you walk inside, the first thing you notice is the heat from the injection molding machines. We work with all kinds of plastic materials here. The floor is littered with small plastic pellets that seem to get into everything, even our shoes. It is a very industrial atmosphere, with the smell of warm polymer always present. We have a small crew that works in shifts to keep the machines running. Swastik Polymers makes different parts for other companies, mostly things you wouldn't even notice. There is no air conditioning in the main workshop, so we sweat a lot during the summer months. The noise of the cooling fans is constant. We keep our records in a big dusty ledger on the foreman's desk. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. Most of our business comes from the other shops in the Ida Kukatpally area. We just focus on getting the cycles right so the plastic doesn't warp. It’s a gritty job, and our hands are usually stained from the dyes we use. We can fix our own machines when they break down. It’s just how we operate here. We usually have a bit of music playing over the machine noise to keep us going.
