Cad Operator

Our place is over in Kukatpally, right near the 9th Phase. If you know Hyderabad, you know it gets pretty busy around here with all the new buildings and shops popping up. We are at Plot No 720 in Gokul Plots. It’s a decent area, though the traffic on the main road can be a real headache in the evenings. We work as Cad Operators, which basically means we sit in front of monitors for most of the day. It’s not the most exciting job to talk about when you meet people, but it’s what we know how to do. The office isn't anything special to look at. We have the usual desks, some old chairs that have seen better days, and plenty of empty tea glasses lying around by the end of the shift. We don’t go in for those big speeches about excellence or mission statements. We just try to get the drawings right so the engineers or builders don’t have a mess on their hands later. If a mistake happens, we just fix it and keep going. Most of our neighbors are just other small businesses or families. It feels like a real community where everyone is just trying to get by. We like being in this part of the city because everything you need is just a short walk away. We’ve been here for a bit now and have seen the area change, but we just keep doing our thing at the computer every single day.
